Telecommute Nursing Jobs

Telecommute nursing jobs may sound like a contradiction in terms, but there are actually quite a large number of telecommuting jobs available for nurses, including Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN’s), Registered Nurses (RN’s), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA’s). While some of these nursing jobs are essentially medical transcription positions, there are also many jobs offered by insurance companies that require licensing or certification.

One example is McKesson Health Services. McKesson is one of the nation’s largest health care services companies and hires RNs and others as health care agents – essentially telecommuting nursing jobs. (To find a work at home position, search its job. Jobs with no city and state are telecommute.)

Another example is Fonemed, a company that hires registered nurses to work from home to provide telephone triage and health advice to callers from across North America. They also hires customer service reps who only need a minimum of a high school diploma.

Telecommute nursing jobs can be an ideal situation for someone who has disabilities that make commuting difficult, or has difficulty commuting to work in general. For someone pursuing an online nursing degree, telecommuting to work might be the perfect situation to transition from nursing school program to work.
